Rep. Hugh Crawford:: District 38:: Novi


DISTRICT
State Rep. Hugh Crawford was first elected to serve the people of the 38th House District in 2008. Located in Oakland County, the district includes Lyon Township, part of Northville city, Novi city, Novi Township, South Lyon city, Walled Lake city and Wixom city.

PROFESSIONAL
Crawford is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and a retiree of Xerox Corporation, where he worked for 20 years.

PAST PUBLIC OFFICES AND AFFILIATIONS
Crawford is a long-time Oakland County political figure, serving as vice-chair of the Oakland County Commission, Novi City Council member and Novi Mayor pro-tem.

PERSONAL
Crawford is a 67-year Novi resident. Wife Kathy is currently a Novi City Council member, following a 25-year tenure as Novi Senior Services Director. They have three children.

PUBLIC SERVICE
Crawford has a long history of public service for Oakland County and Novi. He served on the Southwest Oakland Cable Commission for 13 years; Novi's Parks and Recreation Commission for 10 years; Novi's Parks and Recreation Chair for six years; and member of the Oakland County Republican Executive Committee, Novi Lions Club, Multi-Lakes Conservation Association, NACO, the Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, the Novi Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Novi Chamber of Commerce, and the Lyon Area Chamber of Commerce. He also currently serves as a member of the Emergency Telephone Service Committee & the Commercial Mobile Radio Service Subcommittee for the Michigan Association of Counties.
