DISTRICT
Green was elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in 2004 and represents the 90,000 residents of Wyoming and Byron Township. In 1999, Green became the youngest elected official in the city of Wyoming's history. He quickly earned a reputation among both citizens and business owners as conscientious and hard-working. In 2003, he set another Wyoming electoral record, winning his re-election bid by the largest margin of victory ever in a race between two candidates, earning 83 percent of the vote.

EDUCATION
In 1992, he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant and was honored as salutatorian of his class with a 3.9 grade point average. That year, he won the prestigious Wall Street Journal Award given to outstanding college seniors.

PROFESSIONAL
After college graduation, Green served as business manager of Toys "R" Us where he was responsible for human resources and financial management of the $6.2 million operation. Green's career in public service began in 1994 when he interned for the city manager of Cedar Springs, Michigan and became active in the city's chamber of commerce. In 1995, Green became the real estate and community relations manager for Viacom Outdoor's Western Michigan region. He also served as Viacom's government affairs manager, directing community relations and advocating public policies for the past decade.

COMMUNITY SERVICE AND AFFILIATIONS
In 1995, Green became active in the Wyoming Area Chamber of Commerce serving on its Government Affairs Committee where, in 1997, he was elected chairman. In 1999, Green was selected to serve on the chamber's executive committee. In 2002, Kevin became chairman of the Board of Directors, where he initiated and implemented a long-term strategic planning committee that expanded the chamber to include the neighboring city of Kentwood and changed the name of the organization to the Wyoming-Kentwood Area Chamber of Commerce.

Green has also been active in the community by serving on numerous boards and associations, including vice president of the Arbor Lake Condominium Association, a member and past vice president of the Wyoming Lions Club, a member and past committee chairman of the Wyoming Jaycees, a member of the Kent County Senior Citizen Senate and a member of the Small Business Association. He has also been active in the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce, serving on its Government Affairs Committee and is currently serving on Kent County's Waste to Energy Board.

PERSONAL
Green was born on June 18, 1970 and grew up in the small town of Wakefield in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. He is the son of two teachers, Joe and Colleen Green. Kevin lives in Wyoming with his wife, Chele, and their two children, Elliot and Meadow.
