Kevin Green

Amid reports that Michigan's unemployment has reached a 25-year high, there is one bright spot for West Michigan as a new ITT Technical Institute campus has opened in Wyoming, state Rep. Kevin Green announced today. "In this tough economy it's clear we can't always rely on one or two industries to provide the bulk of jobs to our residents," said Green, R-Wyoming. "ITT Tech will be a great asset to West Michigan, and the training they give to workers for emerging industries will be a great help to people statewide." The new ITT campus is planning a pre-grand opening ceremony Friday, Jan. 23 at 1 p.m. for guests such as legislators and other community leaders. The event will include a walk-through of the new campus and a meet-and-greet with instructors and students. The public grand opening will be Feb. 5 at 3 p.m. "I'm excited to see what this new campus has to offer," Green said. "Hopefully, more training facilities like this will open soon and Michigan can get back on its feet."#####
