BALL ATTENDS CHECK PRESENTATION IN LENNON

September 11, 2009

State Rep. Dick Ball attended a special check presentation ceremony in Lennon today to announce a $66,680 grant to the village of Lennon to make sewer system upgrades needed to expand Alderman's Inc.

Alderman's is investing $150,500 to expand its warehouse to include a service and repair area. The village is contributing $8,000 to support the project, which is expected to create four new jobs.

"It's great to see the public and private sectors working together to strengthen our local economy," said Ball, of Bennington Township. "The grant to expand Alderman's will have a positive effect on this longtime family business and the entire community as a whole."

Alderman's sells and repairs equipment to agriculture businesses across Michigan.

The grant is made available by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, with funds provided by the federal Community Development Block Grant program.
