March is Reading Month a huge success Every year, students from across the state join together in celebration of their passion for reading during National Reading Month. I was honored to have the opportunity to help celebrate with our local youth in my recent visit to 13 elementary schools in our community. Being able to impact the lives of children -- and our state's future -- is an occasion I readily welcome. Throughout the visits to local classrooms, it was a pleasure to share the joy of reading with lively students, excited about the chance to read and be read to. We should all give thanks to the teachers, parents and community members that encourage reading beyond the classroom on a daily basis. The element of literacy has become a predecessor for success to all of our nation's citizens. With National Reading Month, and the exceptional work of our school systems today, I hope that our children maintain their passion for reading and their enthusiasm for their futures, celebrating reading every month.
